The Winn Parish Library will be the site of “Wellness Wednesday” today, August 14, beginning with lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by a program from noon until 1 p.m. This is part of an ongoing monthly series featuring topics on healthy lifestyle for the public.
“Join us at the main branch of the Winn Parish Library, 200 North St. John Street in Winnfield, for our Learn Event on Inflammation,” says the LSU AgCenter agent Shannan Chevallier. “Once a month we hold a Wellness Wednesday where we focus on a health topic that is taught by a professional and then we have a Q&A session for you to ask your questions.”
She notes, “We will start serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the ‘Inflammation’ talk will begin at noon. Come join us on your lunch break and get informed on some things that may be causing inflammation in your body. We hope to see you there.”
The monthly program is brought through the cooperation of the LSU AgCenter, City of Winnfield, Winn Parish Library and The Rapides Foundation.
Chevallier also notes that tomorrow is the deadline to turn in a resume for a part-time grant assistant through a Rapides Foundation Healthy Behaviors mini grant. Applicants must be able to plan, market & assist in carrying out events, work as a team with people skills, be computer-efficient, work 10-20 hours a week during grant cycles and more. Send resumes or questions to SChevallier@agcenter.lsu.edu by August 15.
