Area residents are invited to beautify the community in a parishwide Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 5, as the Winn Parish Police Jury and the City of Winnfield join forces with “Keep Louisiana Beautiful” (KLB).  “We are reaching out to the community to volunteer in getting teams together to help clean up our parish,” explained Karen Tyler, secretary/treasurer of the police jury.

“We are asking each team to choose the roads that they want to pick up.  Each team needs to have a pickup truck or trailer to bring their collections to the Winnfield Recreation Center at 800 North Grove Street.  We will have hamburgers and door prizes there for participants.”

A meeting will be held Thursday, April 3, at 3:30p.m. in the Police Jury Office in the courthouse for team leaders.  At that time, trash bags, gloves, grabbers, vests and liability forms will be handed out.

“The Police Jury appreciates the cooperation of our citizens in making this important event a success,” says Tyler.  The theme of KLB is “Love the Boot.”
