Kindergarten:

The Winn Parish School Board encourages future kindergarten students to register now for the 2025-2026 school year.  Calvin High School, Dodson High School, and Winnfield Primary School are accepting documentation for children who will enter kindergarten in August 2025. 

If children are already enrolled in PreK at the school where they will attend kindergarten, they do not have to participate in this registration.  Documents required for registration: 

∙ Birth certificate- Child must be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2025. 

∙ Social security card 

∙ Up-to-date immunization record 

Schools will mail letters closer to the start of the 2025-2026 school year with information for their kindergarten students so it is important that these students register their correct mailing information.

Pre- Kindergarten:

Registration packets are now available at Calvin High School, Dodson High School, Winnfield Primary School, and the Winn Parish School Board Office for children to register for the Winn Parish PreKindergarden Program 2025-26. The deadline to return completed registration packets to the Winn Parish School Board Office is June 13.

Documents Required at Registration (Copies of all documents are acceptable in enrollment packet):

1. Birth Certificate

2. Social Security Card

3. Immunization Record- up to date for child’s age

4. Proof of Residence- only acceptable forms: Louisiana driver’s license, state-issued ID card, current utility bill, current lease or mortgage statement.

5. Income verification- acceptable forms: SNAP/CAFÉ Letter including the child’s name with valid effective and end date OR two (2) consecutive check stubs for every adult in household (within 2 months of application).

 All documents must be provided for student enrollment.

 Children must be 4 years old on or before September 30, 2025.

 Registration is open to all children at all times.

 Each class will close once enrollment reaches 20 students. Children will be allowed to fill seats at other schools at that time.
