City Open House Tomorrow Is “Bands & Brushes”

The Winn Main Street Community will be hosting a “Bands and Brushes Art Crawl” the night of Downtown Open House, tomorrow, Nov. 9.

The purpose of Bands and Brushes is to highlight the many talented artists and singers there are in Winn Parish. Art pieces and crafts will be displayed at the Pea Patch Gallery and at the Allen Building. Artists from all over the parish will be displaying their arts and crafts. Some may even be selling some of their items. Each artist was asked to donate an item of their choice to a Silent Auction that will benefit the Winn Main Street program.

The “Bands” portion of the evening will fill downtown Winnfield’s streets with live music.  The following local musicians will be set up and playing their music downtown that night. Deep Water Rehab will be set up at The Stump Food Truck Park near the post office; Spencer Brunson will be set up at The Political Museum and the FBC Praise Choir will be singing on the steps of FBC.

In order to encourage everyone to visit all of these local artists displays, bands and boutiques, people can pick up a punch card at the Allen Building. As they visit the various locations listed on the card, someone will initial it showing they have been there. Everyone with completed punch cards will turn them back in at the Allen Building to be put in a drawing for a prize.

Organizers want to encourage everyone to visit all of Winnfield’s local businesses, artists, bands and vendors. “Together we can make Winn the best it can be.”
