
A burn ban has been issued for Winn Parish effective at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, under Winn Parish Ordinance 003 of 2006.
The burn ban applies to all outside burning and will remain in effect until further notice.
The burn ban does not apply to prescribed burns conducted by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, those trained and certified by the department, or those conducting prescribed burning as a generally accepted agricultural practice as defined by the Louisiana Right to Farm Law (R.S. 3:3601 et seq.).
Violations of the burn ban may result in a $500 fine, up to six months in jail, or both.
The notice was issued by Winn Parish Fire District No. 3 Fire Chief Dustin Parker.
