Winnfield Trio Give Back to the Community – Receives Key to the City

Winnfield natives Keundric Dooley Louicious (Dooley), Donald Alexander and Zan Johnson hosted the first annual Winn “Field” Day last Saturday.

The event started Friday night with a kick-off affair at the forestry building. A DJ and delectable array of food prepared by Soulful Wings was on hand to welcome friends and family and set the tone for giving back to the community the next day.

Saturday began at the Moss Street Rec. with one of Effect Fitness’s signature workouts. Dooley owns a very successful gym/physical fitness center in Atlanta, GA, Effect Fitness.

Next, the trio and several community members, along with the WPSH basketball team, distributed boxes of hygiene items, perishable and non-perishable food to the community. 1200 boxes, enough to feed 400 families were provided by Feed The Children, a leading anti-hunger organization.

Dooley was presented with the key to the city by the Winn Parish Police Jury President Josh McAllister who, represented both the City of Winnfield and Winn Parish.

The day wrapped up with a softball game between Dooley’s co-workers and friends and past and present members of the WSHS baseball team. Who won? The friendly yet highly competitive game ended shortly before the last inning due to a slight injury, but the younger team was in the lead by quite a bit.

Dooley, Alexander and Johnson plan to make this an annual event and hope it will gain momentum in years to come.
