Izabella “Bella” O’Bannon was named the final recipient of the local Kiwanis scholarship during the organization’s regular meeting on Tuesday, June 2.

O’Bannon, a recent graduate of Winnfield Senior High School, was presented with a certificate and a scholarship check. She plans to attend Louisiana Tech University to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering. Following her studies, O’Bannon aims to bring needed medical equipment to rural areas.

While in high school, O’Bannon was highly active in school clubs and activities, volunteered across the community and worked at Embers restaurant. She is the granddaughter of Crystal Cook.
