Winnfield Police Apprehend Home Invasion Suspect

In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 13th, Winnfield Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a home invasion on North Street in Winnfield. 

According to Winnfield Police, Rory Dale LaCroix, a 37-year-old white male from Atlanta, LA broke into a home on North Street through the back door by breaking the glass with a hammer. He was confronted by the homeowner who had armed himself with a gun. LaCroix was able to overpower the homeowner and gain control of the firearm. LaCroix then demanded keys and money and fled from the home.  After a chase with Winnfield Police Department, LaCroix was apprehended in a neighborhood on St. John St. 

LaCroix was wanted on other burglary charges at the time of his arrest. He was charged with aggravated burglary, armed robbery, and three counts of resisting an officer. He is being held at Winnfield Police Department with no bond set at the time of publication.
