On December 30, 2019, Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators received a complaint from the estranged wife of a local elected official. The alleged victim stated that her husband, who she is separated from, had been following, harassing and at one point assaulted her.

Misdemeanor warrants for Simple Assault and Stalking were obtained on December 31, 2019. The Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate Mr. Scott to serve the warrants. Mr. Scott turned himself in on January 8, 2020, to the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office and was booked and later released on a $100,000 bond.

Mr. Scott was elected to District 2 of the Winn Parish School Board during the November 6, 2018 election. He is currently serving the first year of a four-year term that expires in 2022.

Following advice from his attorney, Mr. Scott declined to comment.
