The National Weather Service reports that ongoing drought conditions continue to create elevated wildfire concerns across northern Louisiana. Dry conditions are expected to persist through much of the workweek before increasing moisture brings scattered rainfall Friday night and Saturday.
Although the rainfall could provide some temporary relief, forecasters indicate that precipitation totals are unlikely to produce significant improvement in existing drought conditions.
Residents planning Halloween celebrations, festivals or other outdoor activities Saturday should prepare for possible showers and thunderstorms and monitor updated forecasts as the weekend approaches.
Warm temperatures are expected to continue into early November, with no significant cooldown indicated.
