Winn Parish Fair Board Encourages Exhibit Entries for 2022 Fair

Dear Winn Parish Residents:

The Winn Parish Fair, a historical icon, began around 1916. There are exhibits for children and adults to enter such as arts and crafts, produce, canned items, flowers and livestock. Many of you were a part of the Fair as a young person and now your children have that same opportunity to exhibit their projects. This years theme is “Boots, Jeans & Country Dreams”..

In the past few years, we have seen a decline in the number of exhibits. We would like to encourage the residents of Winn Parish to take a more active role in our Winn Parish Fair. Many of you do not realize that you have entries in your pantries, flower beds, craft bins, sewing rooms, and in your recipe boxes just waiting to be judged at different levels. There are no entry fees.

The Fair Catalog is available on our website at http://www.WinnParishFair.com. Entries should be brought to the Winn Parish Exhibit Building on Monday, September 26th from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Fair depends on its volunteer workers as well as its supporters. Over the years, we have seen many accomplishments to upgrade the facilities as well as the mid-ways. All activities have been geared towards “Family Time”. Along with the carnival rides and games, we also have livestock shows, a pet show and the Winn Riding Association will have a rodeo Friday & Saturday night. The Fair is a time for fun, food, and fellowship with your neighbors.

We appreciate all the help our school system has provided over the years. We have some very unique displays represented by all school age groups and each year we look forwarded to seeing what our talented children and teachers display. These children are taught at an early age to improve their self-esteem and become responsible young adults. The 4-H program encourages that. As in the recent past, adjoining parishes have been invited to participate in the fair as well as entering their exhibits and livestock.

There is much work that goes on behind the scenes of the Winn Parish Fair. Our Fair offers a variety of things not seen in most local fairs.

We encourage this community to sign up and show off your skills at the Winn Parish Fair.

Jamey Maxwell
Winn Parish Fair Board, President

We look forward to seeing you at the Winn Parish Fair this year September 26- October 1, 2022.
