The clouds on Saturday didn’t stop Tracy Zimmerman from hosting a very informative herb club meeting at the Town and Country General Store in Winnfield.

Tracy educated the group of nine people on growing, rooting, and cooking with herbs. The class was made even more entertaining with home-made treats made with herbs, rosemary-orange rum cake, sweet tea with lemon balm, rosemary shortbread cookies, and sun-dried tomato and olive pesto, to name a few.

The class finished up with planting herbs and watching Tracy demonstrate how to plant and prune herbs, so they thrive. It was a great time and several attendees commented that they look forward to upcoming classes.
