The Kiwanis Holds Installation Banquet and Welcomes New Members

The Kiwanis Installation Banquet was held October 17th at the First Presbyterian Church. After a delicious meal provided by Linda Peavy Division 11 Lt. Governor Craig Caskey from the Natchitoches Kiwanis club recognized new members and installed the officers.

New members for the year 2021-22 including 2 for the year 2022-23 were presented certificates and pins. They included Les and Janine Michie, Miranda and Chet Atkins, Dylan and Star Womack, and Ethel Howell. New members not present included Troy Rogers, Karla Wroten, Victoria Hubbard and Dr. Jerry Pipes.

Board members installed were Mary Lou Blackley, Steve Bates, Miranda Atkins. Board members not present were Kyle Armitage and Shonna Moss.  Officers installed for the 2022-23 year were President Kim Futrell, President-Elect Margaret Coon, Vice President Rita James and Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Bill Gaddis.

Lamar Tarver is now Past-President. After the installation of officers Lamar Tarver presented Spirit of Kiwanis Awards to Jim Nicols, Shonna Moss, Kyle Armitage, Steve Bates, Dylan Womack (Rookie of the Year), and Co-Kiwanian of the Year Awards to Rita James and Margaret Coon.

President Kim Futrell closed the meeting with remarks of thanks for allowing her to be President and moving forward with membership and projects to improve our community. Dr. Jerry Williams closed in prayer.
