With Texas Governor Greg Abbott implementing a mandatory 14-day self quarantine on all Louisiana visitors, Texas state agencies have issued additional information for businesses who conduct commerce across state lines.

When you have submitted a request and are awaiting approval, employees can continue to operate as usual. However, workers should have their company ID and a credential or letter indicating that they are essential personnel, as specified by the CISA guidance, in the event they encounter law enforcement.

While Florida has set up checkpoints along highways and interstates, Texas officials insist that they will not be following suit. In a statement to media, the Texas Department of Public Safety said that they “will not be establishing checkpoints along the Texas/Louisiana border.” Instead, troopers will be increasing their patrols at entry points into the state.
