Remembering Phillip Glynn Anderson

Phillip Glynn Anderson
Nov 18, 1941 — Nov 1, 2026

Phillip Anderson, age 84 of Calvin, LA, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Phillip was a devoted Christian, Husband, Father and Brother. He was a lifelong member of Calvin Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He truly loved his church, and if the church was open then that is where he wanted to be. Phillip was a perfect example of God’s love. He was a member of Calvin Masonic Lodge#431 where during his 60 plus years of membership he served as Worshipful Master and all other offices. Phillip was retired from Louisiana Wildlife and Fishers and City of Winnfield.

When he was able, his favorite pastimes were going on spontaneous adventures with his wife Darlene and trying new places to eat, riding bicycles and/or walking with his brother Jerry (and you never knew where you would see them), sitting in a rocking chair on his front porch, and spending time with his family. It did not matter what his grandchildren asked him to do, he was up for anything if it made them happy. From “skippty-hopping”, making the best ramen noodles, pulling them in a wagon for many miles, numerous walking trips to Bob’s to get a coke, making whatever trendy video was popular, going to car shows, or running across the street to get a “cappatino”.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Darlene Anderson, parents, Elmo and Mrytle Anderson, brother Pete Anderson, and sister Minnie Martin.

Left to remember him are his son, Shannon Anderson (Tina), daughter Gllynda Lenard (Shannon). Grandchildren Kristyne Anderson (Krystal), Slade Anderson (Savanna), Scott Lenard (Alyssa), Scout Anderson, Sidney Anderson (Anastasia Dill), and Bailey Lenard. Great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Audrey, Storm, Stone, Saylor, Silas, Samuel, and Ellie. Brother Jerry Anderson (Betty), sister Beverly Roberson, and many nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Calvin with Rev. Billy VerHoef officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends may visit with the family in the church on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until time of service.

Pallbearers are Shannon Anderson, Shannon Lenard, Slade Anderson, Scott Lenard, Scout Anderson and Sidney Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Kristyne Anderson, Bailey Lenard and Jerry Anderson.

Flowers are appreciated, but Phillip would have preferred donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children or Calvin Baptist Church.
