“Pines and peppermints” suggests the mix of our region with a hint of the season, making an appropriate blend for the theme of the 2024 Winnfield Christmas Parade.
That anticipated event will be held in downtown Winnfield on Friday, December 6, beginning at 6 p.m.
Grand Marshal for the parade this year will be Leroy James.
Those wishing to take part in the parade are encouraged to pick up their entry forms at the Louisiana Political Museum, City Hall, the Pea Patch or Mama’s Iron Skillet.
The City of Winnfield has announced an early start event prior to the Main Street activities with Christmas Parade Reception to be held in the Winn Parish Library at 200 North St. John Street.
City Hall invites the public to “Come celebrate with the parade Grand Marshal and Santa Claus.” The reception will continue from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
And in the Winnfield tradition, when the parade is over, it won’t be over. This is because the City of Winnfield will sponsor a fireworks show that they describe as “the most beautiful, sparkling light show in the dark.”
All this will happen on Friday night, December 6, in downtown Winnfield. Be sure to come.
