Longtime community banker Kim Nevils has taken the helm as president of the Bank of Winnfield, stepping into the leadership role as the historic financial institution prepares to mark its 125th anniversary.
Nevils, who officially assumed the presidency in June, announced her appointment as part of the bank’s official launch onto social media platforms.
A familiar face to local residents and business owners, Nevils has spent decades working within the institution. Throughout her tenure, she has served in nearly every operational department, developing deep ties to local customers and multiple generations of Winn Parish families.
“This bank has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it has also been my career for decades,” Nevils said. “Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in just about every area of the bank, learn from some pretty remarkable people and get to know generations of the families we serve.”
Founded in 1901, the Bank of Winnfield is approaching its 125-year milestone. Nevils noted that the bank will use its expanded digital presence to spotlight its heritage, highlight longtime traditions and introduce community members to the staff behind daily operations.
“As we get ready to celebrate our 125th anniversary, we have a lot of stories to tell,” Nevils said. “Some are tucked away in old photographs and bank records. Some live in traditions our customers still remember. And plenty are still being written every day by the people who work here and the community we’re proud to serve.”
Nevils added that while honoring the bank’s history remains a priority, the institution is focused on the future.
“I’m incredibly proud of where we’ve been — and excited about where we’re going,” she said.
