District Attorney Chris Nevils reports the following action was taken in Eighth Judicial District Court on March 18, 2019

MATTHEW VANCE SHELTON: Defendant entered no contest plea possession of SCH II hydrocodone and DWI 1st – CDS. Sentence – possession of SCH II hydrocodone – sentence deferred , pay fine and court cost, probation period time thirty days. DWI 1st – CDS – pay fine and probation fee, community service and substance abuse is satisfied.

JAMES L. BROOKS: Defendant entered alford plea possession of SCH II CDS. Defendant sentenced to serve one and one-half years with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.

MICHAEL A. COLLIER: Defendant entered alford plea two counts simple assault. Defendant sentenced to serve ninety days without labor on both counts consecutively and also to run consecutive to sentence he is presently serving.

JACK D. NOBLES: Defendant entered admission to habitual offender. The original sentence of five years rendered November 26, 2019 vacated, defendant sentenced to serve six years hard labor with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
