The Huey P. Long Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College is proud to recognize the accomplishments of Practical Nursing Class 32.
“This is a great accomplishment for each of these graduates, and it demonstrates their perseverance, dedication and hard work to reach this goal in their lives,” said Campus Dean Jeff Johnson. “Normally, we would celebrate with a traditional pinning ceremony, but due to COVID-19 restrictions we cannot do that at this time. However, we want to recognize these 25 graduating students, and especially recognize the top-performing students from the class.”
Students earning awards include:
- Steven Paden Hutchinson received the Academic Excellence Award, having maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout the program.
- Lauren Wise was elected Nurse of the Year by her peers recognizing her character, compassion and ability to work with others.
- LaTasha Powell and Lauren Wise were recognized for having perfect attendance throughout the program.
In addition to these graduates, the CLTCC Natchitoches Campus anticipates 2 additional Practical Nursing cohorts contributing to the nursing workforce in 2021. The following students are members of the National Association of Practical Nurses, Inc. (NALPN) and maintained a 3.0 or greater GPA throughout the program: Mikaela Culpepper, Jacquetta Grayson, Steven Paden Hutchinson, Natasha Johnson and Lauren Wise.
