Christ Wesleyan Fellowship Joins Global Methodists

As with any church, food and fellowship plays an important role with church members at Christ Wesleyan Fellowship here in Winnfield. This is a scene following the church’s recent induction into the Global Methodist Church.

Christ Wesleyan Fellowship of Winn celebrated its induction into the Global Methodist Church with a Wesley Covenant Service on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The Reverend William “Bill” Willis, an ordained elder in the newly-formed Global Methodist Church, led the service of renewed Covenant.

Christ Wesleyan Fellowship currently meets in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church at 302 North Bevill Street in Winnfield on Sundays at 11 a.m. and for prayer meeting on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.. Sunday School is held at 9:30 a.m. each week. CWF is a new church plant which held its first service on April 16, 2023, when founding members formed the new church with additional people joining in the following months.

The new congregation enjoys Biblically-based teaching and preaching through interim speakers at this time. With the October 4, 2023, acceptance as a member congregation of the Global Methodist Church, Eastern Texas Provisional Annual Conference, CWF will begin its search for a pastor to lead as the church strives to follow the GMC mission to “make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.”
