Greetings Winnfield, my name is Carnesha Willis-Moore and this is my official announcement of candidacy for School Board District #6. Winn Parish is rural but has a definite impact on Louisiana and it is a great place to raise children. I believe we must take action that serves students and priorities of the Winn Parish School system. My focus as a school board member will be improving the lives of our students by maintaining quality education. Our teachers are devoted and essential to the system. The classroom is where the student grows and achieves. Our teachers are the glue that hold students accountable and implement the curriculum. By using data, we can develop plans to breathe new life into this school system and continue to move forward.
I am the former Mrs. Quincy Moore, to which we share two children. Our son is a graduate of the Winn Parish school system. I am the daughter of Mr. Eddie G. Willis Jr. ,the daughter in-law of Mrs. Ollie Mae Moore and the late Howard Ray Moore. I am in my 17th year of teaching and this is my 5th year as an Integrated Art Specialist. Currently, I am the Talented Art Teacher, Elective Supervisor and a member of my school’s Instructional Leadership Team. I also serve on the Climate and Culture committee. I am a member of the National Art Education Association (NAEA) and The Association for Gifted and Talented Students of Louisiana. I have over 19 years experience in youth ministry and I give God ALL the glory! If elected, I will be available to the community and an advocate for our children. Winn Parish Schools provide real life solutions for our students which makes us a cut above the rest! I am #67 on the ballot and I am asking, District # 6 for your vote on November 8th.
