Sharing and Caring in Unity Community Dinner Provides Meals to the Community for 11th Year

Local Winnfield resident Sheila Mitchell organized a community dinner for Winn parish residence for the eleventh straight year.

According to Mitchell, Mitchell, along with her Caring & Sharing In Unity organization, community volunteers and city officials, was able to make this year’s event the best one yet.

The event took place at Laurel Heights Baptist Church with help from Pastor Lee Tilton. Those that were not able to attend the event in person had meals delivered to their home. “We wanted to be able to go out and feed them and minister to them. We were able to feed 350 people not only food for the body, but also food for the spirit,” Tilton said.

“People came together today. All my loved ones here. All my family. We are a family, and I represent unity,” Mitchell said.
