District Attorney Chris Nevils reports the following action was taken in Eighth Judicial District Court on July 13, 2020

 BEN MICHAEL COLLINSWORTH:  Defendant present for sentence on the sentence of aggravated battery which was previously revoked by the court.  Defendant sentenced to serve ten years hard labor with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.

 BRENT DEWAYNE JAMES:  Defendant entered guilty plea obstructing a fireman.  Defendant sentenced to serve five years hard labor with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.  Execution of five year jail sentence suspended, defendant placed on three years supervised probation with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.  Defendant ordered to pay fine and court cost and complete sixteen hours court approved community service.  Defendant sentenced on the charge of possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance which was previously revoked by the court.  Defendant sentenced to serve two years hard labor with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections since arrested on the probation violation.

 JENNIFER ELFREIDA BOOTH:  Defendant entered guilty plea unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.  Imposition sentence deferred, defendant placed on three years supervised probation.  Defendant ordered to pay fine, court cost, attorney fee and supervision fees.  Defendant ordered to perform sixteen hours court approved community service.   

 SARAH JO CARPENTER:  Defendant entered guilty plea operating a vehicle while intoxicated second offense.  Imposition sentence suspended, defendant placed on two years supervised probation.  Defendant ordered to pay fine, court cost, fee to Office of Public Defender and probation fee.  Defendant ordered to satisfactorily complete court approved drug and substance abuse and driver improvement programs. 

 MARKUS THOPILE GOODEN:  Defendant entered guilty plea simple burglary.  Defendant sentenced to serve one year without hard labor with credit for time served since his arrest on this charge.

 PERRY NATHANIEL HOSTETLER:  Defendant entered guilty plea aggravated flight from an officer.    Imposition sentence deferred, defendant placed on two years supervised probation with Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.  Defendant ordered to pay fine and court cost.  Defendant ordered to complete sixteen hours community service.

 LINDSEY MARIE NORTON:  Defendant entered guilty plea possession of schedule III CDS hydrocodone.  Defendant sentenced to serve without hard labor beginning date of arrest on this charge.  Defendant ordered to pay fine.

MELISSA D. PAULEY:  Defendant entered guilty plea injuring public record.  Defendant sentenced to serve six months without hard labor with credit for time served since arrest on this charge.

 KIMBERLY MICHELLE SULLIVAN:  Defendant entered guilty plea aggravated battery.  Defendant sentenced to incarceration without hard labor February 7, 2019 until January 22, 2020.
